On Friday, President Bola Tinubu sacked Dr. Bashir Gwandu from the position of Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and subsequently approved the appointment of Khalil Suleiman Halilu, as confirmed by the Presidency.
In accordance with the relevant sections of the NASENI Act, 2014, Khalil Suleiman Halilu will assume this crucial role for an initial term of five years. Mr. Halilu, aged 32, is expected to apply his substantial expertise as an innovator and technology specialist to this important national assignment.
The tenure of Dr. Bashir Gwandu as the EVC/CEO of NASENI has been terminated based on the President’s directive, and the appointment of Khalil Suleiman Halilu takes immediate effect.
Halilu is recognized for his role as a company founder and investor. He is most renowned for his contributions, including the creation of Zabe, an election monitoring tool, and The CANs, an eco-friendly technological hub.
