Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has issued a wake-up call to Nigerians to help preserve the country from misery.
Obi made the plea during the launch of his book, Peter Obi: Many Voices, One Perspective, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The former Anambra governor went on to say that the next presidential election was “an existential election” that Nigeria could not afford to take lightly.
Obi cautioned that if the nation choose the wrong leader in the election, the consequences would be unexpected.
At the ceremony, Obi also asked residents to vote for him so that he could provide the kind leadership they desired.
“We ask all of you to support us, especially in these last days of this marathon,” he stated. Nigeria has been through enough. This is a wonderful country that can be transformed. We can’t prosper without your help.”
Obi stated on Monday that if elected in the forthcoming presidential election, he will cut the expense of governing.

On Monday, he announced this using his official Twitter handle as part of his presentation to the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
“We will work with the CBN to limit the ‘ways and means’ to what is permissible under the law and for a more transparent and liberalized foreign exchange market,” he tweeted.
