Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has stated that no one is opposed to Governor Nyesom Wike and his disgruntled colleagues’ demands.
The G-5 Governors are asking, among other things, that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairman step down.
The governors have demanded the resignation of the party’s chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, after being outraged by the conclusion of the party’s presidential primary poll, which was won by Atiku Abubakar.
However, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the bulk of the party’s officials have refused to give in to the demand, saying that if at all feasible, it would take place after the election.
“This is not something Atiku can achieve on his own. “I can promise you that it is a matter of timing,” Saraki remarked on Monday’s episode of Arise TV’s The Morning Show.
“Everyone is on the same page with the G-5’s request. It all depends on when it happens.
“These are the types of topics we’re discussing right now. Nobody disagrees with what they’re saying, but it’s all about time, when it’ll happen, and how we’ll go about it, and we’re trying to address those concerns.
“The Chairman himself didn’t indicate he wants to sit tight but what is crucial before us now is the election.
“I don’t see Atiku getting sworn in May 2023 and the Chairman still continues in that job. I’m not seeing it. It all comes down to time and strategy.”
