The Department of State Security Services, DSS, has denied accusations that its agents broke into the office of Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
According to reports, secret police operatives stormed the CBN on Monday with the purpose of arresting the apex bank’s governor.
The DSS, on the other hand, dismissed the claim as false and misleading in a curt statement released by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya.
“The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been attracted to the fake report making the rounds that its agents raided the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its Governor today, 16/1/23,” the statement says.
“This is bogus news and highly deceptive”.
