President Bola Tinubu expressed absolute confidence in his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, during a statement made before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. In his address, the President discussed various matters he had observed and expressed discomfort with, particularly unauthorized individuals gaining access to the Council Chambers.
President Tinubu emphasized that while he acknowledges his potential for making mistakes, he has complete trust in the integrity of his Chief of Staff. He called for an end to the unfounded allegations and speculations, emphasizing that accountability ultimately rests with him. He stated that if he makes an error, he is ready to take responsibility for it, and he is dedicated to collaborating with others in the fight against corruption and law enforcement.
During the Council meeting, a moment of silence was observed to honour the memory of Alhaji Adamu Fika, a former FEC member and former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who passed away at the age of 90 last week. The meeting was attended by several key figures, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and nearly all the ministers.
