Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has revealed a reason why his former team will not win the Premier League title this season, despite their strong effort.
Man United are presently eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal in the table.
Arsenal will play Manchester United in a Premier League match at Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening, and a win would put the Red Devils on the tails of rivals Manchester City and five points behind the Gunners.
However, Neville, who played over 600 games for Manchester United, believes Erik ten Hag’s side will not win the league because they are lacking in the offensive line compared to other clubs.
Before the game at the Emirates, Neville said Sky Sports, “I don’t think they (Man United) are going to win” (in the mix for the title).
“I believe they fall short in comparison to other teams. They’re a touch short in the front. When you consider Weghorst’s arrival, he was only a stopgap. “The others appear to have more firepower, but United, considering where they started the season, are in a pretty excellent position.”
