Reportedly, two residences belonging to Dr. Paschal Agbodike, the House of Representatives member representing Ihiala federal constituency, were set ablaze by unidentified arsonists in his hometown of Mbosi in Ihiala local government area.
It’s worth noting that last year, the houses of the community’s President General and traditional ruler were similarly destroyed by hooligans.
Mbosi, a community within the same local government, has become a place where social gatherings are no longer held due to the activities of unknown gunmen. Consequently, funeral and wedding ceremonies are no longer conducted in Mbosi.
Although no loss of life occurred, Dr. Agbodike, who previously served as the deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, found both of his houses razed to the ground. The properties included a fully furnished duplex and a bungalow within the same compound, with looting of belongings also taking place.
The incident, which occurred around 1 am on Tuesday, caused chaos in the community, prompting residents to evacuate their homes.
The federal legislator was in Abuja performing his legislative duties when the attack transpired.
As of now, there has been no official response from the Anambra State police command regarding this incident.
