Senator Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State, has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will face opposition in the elections on November 11, 2023, without fear.
In an interview that was seen on television, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, who oversaw the primary election where Diri won the PDP standard-bearer position, said that his administration had done well enough to merit a second term.
He said individuals whose sole concern is gaining power would not recognize the improvements in the state, listing infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, sports, skills acquisition, and human capacity development as areas where the state has achieved noticeable progress.
According to Diri, his administration has made the PDP a powerful force that can take on the opposition.
“Power-hungry people always approach problems from an offensive stance. As I previously mentioned, some people have eyes but cannot see.
“Whoever wins the other parties’ primaries will find us prepared. However, as I already stated, we can no longer rely on violence to establish authority. Power originates with God.
Let me reassure you that our party is far more cohesive now than it was before. In the recently held elections, the PDP prevailed resoundingly. PDP won three of the three available Senate seats, including Bayelsa East’s, who is currently serving as a senator. Out of the four announced Federal Constituencies, PDP won four, including Nembe/Brass, a current member of the House of Representatives. This Saturday’s fifth election will be redone, and PDP will prevail. The PDP holds a clear two-thirds majority in the House of Assembly. So it proves that we (PDP) are present on the ground.
