The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Rev John Joseph Hayab, has made an appeal for unity among Nigerians to strengthen the country under the new administration.
Hayab’s statement comes in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the election of President Bola Tinubu.
In a personal statement issued on Thursday, Hayab expressed, “Now that our highest court has made a ruling in accordance with our laws, any divisive debates and character attacks among political parties and their supporters should cease, making way for healing, restoration, and unity to promote development.”
He stressed the importance of Nigerians showing appreciation and respect for the judiciary in the interest of peace and harmonious coexistence in the nation.
Hayab emphasized that no individual should allow themselves to be manipulated into dividing the country based on political differences. He called on Nigerians to unite and support the individual confirmed by the Supreme Court for the sake of fostering development in the country.
He further encouraged citizens to come together in a spirit of unity and love as they support the new government while also holding them accountable for good governance.
