Before the meeting, Council members spent a minute of silence in memory of Bola Ajibola, a former minister of justice and attorney general of the Federation who passed away at the age of 89.
Ajibola also served as the Nigerian Bar Association’s president from 1984 to 1985, as well as the country’s high commissioner to the UK and as a judge on the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
