Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, the immediate past Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has been re-elected for a second term.
Oluomo was elected when the 10th Ogun Assembly was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Hon. Bolanle Ajayi of the Yewa South State Constituency was also elected Deputy Speaker of the House.
Oluomo’s reelection was alleged to have occurred after hours of deliberation and horse-trading among lawmakers.
The Speaker is currently on trial for allegations of N2.5 billion went missing under his watch, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He represents Ifo Constituency 1 and served as Deputy Speaker of the House from 2011 to 2019.
