The Nigerian Air Force has issued a statement discrediting a NAF recruitment advertisement that is being circulated on social media platforms. The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, stated on Monday in Abuja that the advertisement is fraudulent and an attempt to deceive applicants.
Gabkwet emphasized that the NAF is not currently conducting any recruitment drive and cautioned potential applicants against falling victim to scammers.
He clarified that the advertised recruitment campaign did not originate from the NAF. He also reminded Nigerians that the NAF had recently graduated recruits from Basic Military Training Course 43/2022 on July 8.
Gabkwet assured the public that any future NAF recruitment will be officially announced, and everyone will be duly informed. He stressed that the NAF’s recruitment and selection process is entirely free of charge, and no gratification is required. Any individual who claims to be a recruitment agent for the NAF is to be considered a fraudster, as the NAF does not engage such intermediaries.
To maintain transparency and protect applicants from fraud, the NAF advises anyone approached for payments during the recruitment process to promptly report such incidents to the nearest NAF Unit or the Nigeria Police Force.
