Naira Marley joined NDLEA’s ambassador in their drive against drug and substance abuse.
Naira Marley, the creative force behind Nigerian pop anthems like ‘Soapy’ and ‘Mafo,’ is once again grabbing attention. The renowned artist has been revealed as the newest ambassador for the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in their campaign for the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy initiative.
Known as Azeez Adeshina Fashola in private life, Naira Marley has encountered clashes with various Nigerian government bodies in the past. Following the release of his hit track ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ in 2019, he was apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on the very same day. Shortly after his release from custody, he launched his chart-topping song ‘Soapy,’ which delved into the intimate behaviors of inmates.
However, on the 17th of August 2023, Naira Marley is on the right side of legality. The head of the NDLEA warmly received the artist as he affirmed his backing for the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy initiative.
This development was conveyed by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Naira Marley’s profile page on the social media platform X. The official NDLEA page on X also echoed this announcement.
