The Labour Party felicitated Muslim faithful all over Nigeria as they joined Muslims over the world to celebrate Eid-ed-Kabir this year.
In a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Abayomi Arabambi on behalf of the Party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Lamidi Apapa, the party urged all Nigerians to stay together and continue to pray for the country’s peaceful existence.
The party urged Muslims to emulate the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) by adopting the sacrificial ideas that he demonstrated.
According to the party, the meaning of the Sallah is sacrifice and commitment, and as real believers, we must imbibe the celebration’s teachings since no good thing comes without sacrifice.
“We will continue to pray for our leaders to do things that will lift our people out of the poverty and economic crisis that we are currently in, but we must also remain committed to the ideals of nation-building as citizens.”
As a formidable Nigerian party, we will continue to put our leaders on notice to do what is right at the right time and to be fair to all without regard for ethnic or tribal sensitivities.
While we appreciate the efforts of all Nigerians, especially the masses, the party has called on the government to promptly implement palliative measures to reduce the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy since our people cannot wait in perpetuity.
The party also urged Nigerians to renew their commitment to one Nigeria and to remain focused on their hopes for a better country under President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
The party urged all political leaders in the country to pray for and support one Nigeria in unity and diversity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s present administration, irrespective of political affiliation, since we have no other country other than Nigeria.
“Beyond the season, Eid-el-Kabir embodied love, peace, and sacrifice, and called for tolerance, synergy, and cooperation among citizens to help the nation overcome its current challenges.”
“We also urged Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence exemplified by genuine brotherliness and seek forgiveness from Allah in order to rekindle the healing of the land’s multifaceted ills.”
Given the will of well-meaning citizens, we are certain that Nigeria will return to the stage of recovery and glory sooner rather than later.
“On behalf of all of us in the Labour Party, we congratulate our Muslim brothers all over the country on the occasion of the 2023 Eid-el-Kabir,”
