The Governing Council of Kwara State University (kwasu) has promoted 20 university academics to professorial cadre.
The confirmation was issued during the 64th regular meeting of the institution’s governing council, held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, according to a statement signed by the Acting Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, and made available to our reporter on Tuesday.
According to the statement, five of the 20 staff were promoted to full professorship, while the remaining 15 were promoted to associate professorship.
Taibat Moji Yusuf, Agricultural Production and Resource; Dupe Olufunke Ogunbosoye, Ruminant Nutrition; Issa Abdulraheem, Business & Human Resource Management & Entrepreneurship; Salih Muhammed Jum’ah Alaso, Arabic Literature & Nigerian Arabic Poetry Criticism; and Yahya Duro Uthman Hambali, Criminal Justice and Criminology,” the statement read.
Furthermore, on Friday, February 17, 2023, 9800 newly admitted students were formally matriculated into the institution for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, promised the incoming students of the institution’s world-class education in his matriculation address.
He also advised them to seize the excellent chance that the institution had provided them.
