The Umuahia Catholic Diocese’s Bishop Michael Ukpong has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of crucifying Nigerians’ hope for a better country during the 2023 general elections.
Bishop Ukpong made the comment in his Easter speech to the people of Umuahia.
The cleric encouraged Nigerians not to give up, expressing hope that justice will eventually triumph over deception.
“This is especially important for us Nigerians in light of what INEC did with the recent presidential election.” This year’s Easter message for the lovely people of Nigeria is to not give up hope for a New Nigeria, which many of us voted for. For the time being, INEC has crucified that hope,” the Bishop added.
He also asked Nigerians to pray for the country and love one another, saying that it was Christ’s love for humanity that led him to sacrifice his life for all.
