Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the February 25 election, has stated that he is not frightened of what he calls lies and propaganda against him, calling them as part of the road to a new Nigeria.

“I have always lived my life in accordance with the law.” We all make errors as humans, but I will never knowingly break any law.

“I am, therefore, not afraid of the lies and propaganda against my person, which are part of the journey to a New Nigeria,” Obi stated on Tuesday at the Labour Party’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting in Asaba, Delta State.

According to him, those opposed to the establishment of the New Nigeria may hurl more mud at him, but he will not be deterred by the barriers in his path to triumph.

He urged Nigerians to be calm and steadfast in their quest to recover their mandate of a New Nigeria, promising them that he would not give up until victory is achieved.

Obi explained that he never intended his journey to New Nigeria to be simple, and that the forces that had thrived off the old system for years were bound to to fight back, as currently happening.

“If they come at us through land, air, and sea, we will respond through land, air, and sea,” he declared, adding that “we will remain law abiding and will never give up on the nation.”

“We are on the right track, and we will stay the course.”

“The millions of Nigerians who voted for me did not simply cast their ballots; they put their hope in me.” They deserve justice, therefore we must persevere. “In addition to regaining our mandate, I am committed to lifting people out of poverty.” I am still committed to transforming Nigeria, starting in the north and spreading across the country.”

He reiterated his commitment to a ‘Nigeria that will be beneficial to every Nigerian’, stressing that the struggle to reclaim the mandate is not about him, as a person, but about millions of Nigerians who reposed their trust on him through their votes.
