The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu , said he is not giving up even though he lost the just ended senatorial election, which was conducted last Saturday.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance defeated Ikpeazu, a two-term governor.
Rather than being dejected, the governor appreciated God for giving him the chance to lead Abia State for eight years.
He thanked God that no lives were lost in the election when speaking to reporters on Wednesday since he wasn’t prepared to use violence or spilled blood to win the race.
“In elections, you win some and lose some,” he remarked. That really is service, and if for some reason you are not given the chance, you thank God for the ones you did. I won’t die for political purposes. I’m in a good mood and am currently concentrating on the 11th March governorship election.
He added that the results from the South East area were most significantly impacted by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
Tell our detractors that Dr. Ikpeazu has won two elections for governor of Abia and, by God’s grace, has beaten COVID-19, the governor instructed. He has several blessings.
Throughout his eight years as governor, he built a paediatric hospital, 700 classroom blocks, four model schools, among other things, and 51 Abian citizens received foreign scholarships. He also restored peace and security, built four bridges and 200 roads, among other things.
“It is to demonstrate that he came to serve without resentment and without paying heed to naysayers. Ikpeazu has promised to complete a giant hospital in Aba, a new modern diagnostic lab in Isuikwuato, and the new Government House in Umuahia. I am grateful for many things. Let all men count theirs. It’s not how long but how well.”
