Residents of Kogi State have received a call to stand firm in their determination to put an end to what is claimed to be eight years of hardship imposed by the administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters in Lokoja on Friday, Sam Ranti Abenemi, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the upcoming November 11 Governorship election in Kogi State, offered this advice. Abenemi criticized Governor Bello’s eight-year tenure, branding it as the worst government in Kogi State’s history, and urged residents not to be intimidated by any forces associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.
A former State Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abenemi urged voters to resist the temptation of accepting money from the ruling party and instead cast their votes to remove the APC from power. He encouraged voters to support Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the SDP in the election and to expel the APC from Kogi State.
Abenemi also highlighted the decline of the Lokoja Water Works, which was once a source of pride for the people of Lokoja, under the APC-led government of Governor Bello.
In his words, “The time has come for change; participate in the electoral revolution. All Kogites are discontented, and the only solution is to unite and eliminate everything associated with the APC.”
