    Governor Zulum appoints new Rector for Ramat Polytechnic

    Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of Mr. Bukar Abubakar as the newly designated Rector of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri.

    A press release issued by Mallam Isa Gusau, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, has disclosed that prior to this appointment, Mr. Abubakar held the position of Deputy Rector, Administration, at the same polytechnic.

    The statement goes on to highlight Mr. Abubakar’s extensive experience and contributions within the institution, such as serving as the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology from 2014 to 2019, taking on the role of Acting Director of the School of Engineering in 2016, and holding the position of Principal Lecturer from 2018 to 2021. Additionally, he assumed the role of Deputy Rector, Administration, in 2020, chaired the Staff Development Committee from 2020 up to the present, and was recognized as Chief Lecturer from 2022 onwards.

    Furthermore, the statement notes Mr. Abubakar’s substantial academic research achievements, with nearly 40 published research works in various academic journals, along with a number of unpublished ones.

    The statement also underscores his professional affiliations, which include membership in prestigious organizations such as the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Nigeria Association of Vocational and Technical Educators, International Association of Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
