Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has initiated a N5 billion credit guarantee program aimed at supporting agribusiness owners within the state.
According to a statement released by Muhammad Tukur, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, the scheme’s beneficiaries will encompass producers, aggregators, and marketers.
Governor Fintiri, speaking at the Government House in Yola, emphasized that this initiative constitutes a key component of the Adamawa Agribusiness Support (ADAS) Programme. He elaborated on how this scheme would facilitate access to loans from financial institutions for the beneficiaries.
Furthermore, Governor Fintiri called upon the public to remain patient regarding the recent surge in food prices, assuring that his administration would continue to provide relief measures to mitigate the impact.
Auwal Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government, disclosed that the ADAS initiative has already generated over N1 billion through Agribusiness collections for the state government.
The event’s highlight involved the presentation of loan approval letters to select beneficiaries of the program. (NAN)
