Last night, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, took part in a joint operation with security personnel from various agencies to raid the hideouts of criminals causing unrest and disrupting the peace in Katsina metropolis.
According to a statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Radda personally led the security personnel in the operation, which took place on Tuesday night between 10:00 to 11:30 pm.
The statement revealed that the Governor, along with his team of security personnel, targeted several criminal hideouts during the operation, including areas like Sabuwar Unguwa, Sharar Pipe, Dan Hako, Filin Polo, Kofar Guga, and Tudun Matawalle.
However, the statement did not confirm whether any arrests were made during the late-night operation.
In recent months, criminals have been causing fear among residents in the aforementioned areas and other parts of Katsina metropolis. The criminals have been engaging in activities such as phone snatching and extortion of property from residents in different parts of the city.
During the raid, Governor Radda, who is committed to ridding the state of criminal elements, gave directives to the police operatives to take stringent action against troublemakers who disrupt peace and public order across Katsina.
In response to the recent “clearance operation” conducted at the hideouts of identified criminals, Governor Radda held an emergency meeting with the State’s Security Chiefs to discuss the surge in criminal activities in certain parts of Katsina. During the meeting, Radda expressed his concern and dissatisfaction with the significant security challenges facing the state, urging the security chiefs to proactively fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
