Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has given his approval for the employment of 158 community nursing graduates from Dr. Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu. This decision is part of a strategic effort to enhance healthcare service delivery in the state.
This information was conveyed in a statement released on Saturday by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor. As per the statement, the newly hired healthcare workers belong to two different sets of community nursing graduates from the college.
Furthermore, Governor Buni has sanctioned a monthly allowance of N10,000 for 393 Yobe State students who are currently enrolled in National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programs at Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery. The approval also includes 67 students who are entitled to 11 months’ worth of arrears of this allowance, as mentioned in the statement.
Governor Buni encouraged the newly employed healthcare personnel to exhibit dedication in serving the people and to align with the state government’s reform program aimed at providing efficient, accessible, and affordable medical services to the residents. The Governor also urged the students to work diligently to justify the government’s investment in their education.
