Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has appointed Lekan Adeniran to assume the role of Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
In his initial term, Governor Abiodun appointed Kunle Somorin as the Chief Press Secretary.
However, on Tuesday, the governor announced the new CPS through a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi.
Mr. Talabi, in the statement, affirmed that the appointment is effective immediately.
Talabi characterized Adeniran as a Mass Communication graduate with “over three decades of experience in journalism.”
The statement outlined that Adeniran’s journey in journalism commenced in 1992 at The Guardian, where he reported on the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Lagos State House of Assembly, and the Governor’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja.
“In 2001, he departed from The Guardian to join the newly established Daily Independent. Additionally, the new CPS has contributed to publications like Compass, Next, and National Mirror newspapers.
“Before his current appointment, he held the position of editor at WesternPost, an online newspaper publication,” the statement added.
