The Enugu State government has expressed its appreciation to the United Kingdom Government for establishing a visa centre in the state, which will facilitate visa applications for residents of the state and the entire South-East region.
This commendation was conveyed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Chidiebere Onyia, on Monday in Enugu. According to the statement, the decision to establish the visa centre was a result of requests made by Governor Peter Mbah during a visit by the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, to the Government House in Enugu in June.
The statement highlighted that the news of the visa centre was received with enthusiasm and satisfaction by the state government. It emphasized that the establishment of the centre would not only strengthen economic partnerships but also promote cultural exchanges between Enugu State and the United Kingdom.
The statement conveyed the government’s anticipation of a robust and mutually beneficial relationship with the UK, citing the visa centre as a significant step toward solidifying this partnership. The government encouraged people, particularly those residing in the South-East, to take advantage of this opportunity to submit their visa applications within the state.
Additionally, the government pledged to enhance security for both residents and visitors engaged in business activities within the state. It reiterated its commitment to being open for business and investment.
