The 2023 presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has raised questions regarding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records. Atiku alleges that President Tinubu may be concealing information related to his educational history at Chicago State University.
Through his Media Aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed his concerns, hoping that Nigerians will not be shocked by what Tinubu might be keeping hidden.
Atiku’s remarks came in response to a legal motion filed by Tinubu, challenging an order from the Northern District of Illinois that directed Chicago State University to release his academic records within two days. This order resulted from a case filed by Atiku, who is contesting Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election held on February 25.
Tinubu’s legal team argued in their motion that a magistrate should only provide a recommendation to the district judge in such cases, rather than issuing a final order for immediate compliance.
In response, Paul Ibe stated, “It is becoming increasingly evident that Tinubu may have something to hide in his records at Chicago State University and possibly elsewhere. I sincerely hope that whatever it is, it won’t be of such significance as to shock Nigerians. The truth about Atiku’s position regarding Tinubu’s records at CSU will become clear in due course. It’s only a matter of time.”
