President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of two new Chief Executive Officers for Parastatals and Agencies falling under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, following the recommendations made by the Minister, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to a statement from Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential spokesman, Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has been designated as the Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). Additionally, Mr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima has been chosen to serve as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC).
Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji possesses a degree in Banking and Finance and holds both a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Business Administration. He has a noteworthy background in economics, with over 28 years of industry experience before entering the public service. In the realm of public service, he successfully reversed the declining performance of the Osun State Investment Company Limited and later served as the Osun State Commissioner of Finance for a period of eight years.
On the other hand, Mr. Akutah Ukeyima holds a degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Public International Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His most recent role was as the Head of the Central Authority Unit in International Cooperation in Criminal Matters within the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The statement issued by Ngelale underscores President Bola Tinubu’s expectation that these newly appointed executives in the vital sector will diligently execute the policies and initiatives set forth by the Honourable Minister. Their primary goal is to contribute to the rapid and efficient achievement of increased revenues and investments in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s Blue Economy strategy.
