The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four youths for alleged robbery in the capital, Yola.
According to a statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, this successful operation was part of a new strategy introduced by Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, aimed at curbing the activities of the Shilla gang within the state capital.
The statement further revealed that the suspects, aged between 18 and 23 years, were involved in robbing residents of Demsawo and Nasarawo wards in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area. The arrested individuals are as follows:
1. Kabiru Yahaya, 18 years old, residing on Kala’a’ Street.
2. Abdulazeez Mohammed, 23 years old, residing in Wuro Kuturu.
3. Adamu Babayo, 18 years old, residing on Bauchi Street.
4. Ibrahim Mohammed, 20 years old, residing in Nasarawo Borehole.
These arrests were made on Sunday, September 10, through the joint efforts of the police and members of the Local Security Support Group (vigilantes). Additionally, dangerous weapons and their operational tricycle were confiscated from the suspects.
SP Suleiman Nguroje assured that the arrested individuals would be prosecuted in accordance with existing laws.
