Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, revealed in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that President Bola Tinubu has tasked him with championing patriotism, honesty, and transparency as the fundamental principles of the administration.
According to the Minister, President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ aims to elevate Nigeria to a respected position among the global community and alter the unfavorable perceptions surrounding the country.
Idris stated, “The President has entrusted me with the responsibility of orchestrating a nationwide reorientation within the limited time we have, to help our nation rediscover its identity and set a course in the right direction. This is a significant challenge because moral decay is not confined to the youth; it permeates all levels of society.”
He added, “This is precisely why the President decided to rename the Ministry of Information and Culture to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation. It signifies the President’s commitment to prioritize the issues of orientation and reorientation.”
The Minister further elucidated that the values of patriotism, honesty, and transparency are at the forefront of Tinubu’s efforts. “He has given us a clear directive to ensure the prominence of these values, disseminating them widely to benefit the majority of Nigerians.”
