Former Anambra State Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife has stated that President-elect Bola Tinubu would not be sworn in as President of Nigeria.
Ezeife claimed this while accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of rigging the Presidential and National Assembly elections in favor of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former Anambra Governor stated that Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, has clearly won the presidential election across the country.
In the early hours of Wednesday, INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu announced Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner of the polls.
Yakubu stated that Tinubu received 8,794,726 votes, defeating his closest rivals and PDP candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, who earned 6,984, 520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively.
But, Ezeife told the Arise TV Morning Program that the presidential election showed a lot to Nigerians.
“I thank all foreign bodies who commented and condemned the integrity of the election, and I thank all Nigerians for how they treated the Labour Party,” he stated.
“In fact I’m happy with the results that the Labour Party got from the election, not the ones announced by the INEC. Of course, we know which one is a fake. But what we saw was the Labour Party winning Lagos and across the country.
“Those people who do not believe in the oneness of the country are now thinking otherwise. And the future of Nigeria is now brighter. Tinubu, my friend, will not be sworn in as President, in my opinion.
“If it is done it’d be a disaster but I think this issue has opened the eyes of Nigerians. We thank the Yorubas, the Hausas, and every other community in Nigeria for their openness. Don’t mind the manipulation that placed Peter Obi third.
“Everyone knows it’s impossible, especially given the controversies surrounding the Muslim-Muslim ticket. It is necessary to distinguish between the election as it was conducted and the election as it was reported. Tinubu will not be Nigeria’s President. I don’t see him being sworn in.”
