President Bola Tinubu has made changes in the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), appointing Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the new CEO, who will assume the role for an initial four-year term. This decision was conveyed through a statement released by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has directed the outgoing Chairman and CEO, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, to take a three-month pre-retirement leave, as outlined by Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243. This leave will commence on October 18, 2023, leading to Hassan’s formal retirement on January 17, 2023.
In addition to these changes, President Tinubu has also approved the dissolution of the Board of NAHCON.
It is expected that the new leadership of NAHCON, under the stewardship of Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, will discharge their duties with devotion to Allah and a steadfast commitment to the principles of service as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.”
