President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sadness at the news of former Interior Minister, Senator Maitama Yusuf’s demise, highlighting his dedicated service to Nigeria.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President conveyed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family, friends, and the people of Jigawa State.
Tinubu remarked, “Senator Maitama Yusuf was a true advocate for Nigeria’s unity and stability. He made significant contributions to the country’s socio-economic development. In his public service roles, he exhibited selflessness and a commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. Prior to his tenure in the Nigerian Senate, he served with distinction as the Minister in the Federal Ministries of Interior and Commerce.”
He will be remembered and honoured for his courageous and pivotal role in defending Nigeria’s democracy against anti-democratic forces attempting to extend the constitutional term limits of elected leaders,” Tinubu affirmed.
Tinubu concluded by praying that Almighty Allah grants peace to Senator Maitama Yusuf’s soul.
