Senator Shehu Sani has suggested that the current economic hardship disproportionately affects the poor, while the rich remain shielded from its impact.
Sani, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former lawmaker, conveyed his observation through his verified Twitter account on Tuesday.
He stated: “In our country, the rich are in the Noah’s Ark and the poor are in the Titanic.”
It is worth noting that the cost of living in the country has surged following the significant increase in fuel pump prices, reaching N612 per litre last week. Additionally, the Nigerian naira has experienced a considerable devaluation against the United States dollar in recent exchange market fluctuations.
