Temilade Openiyi, a.k.a Tems, a popular Nigerian singer, has been nominated for the 95th Academy Awards, which will be held on March 12, 2023.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Twitter handle published the 2023 nominee list.
Tems was nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, which will be held in Los Angeles.
Her work with Rihanna on the song ‘Lift Me Up’ earned her a nomination for Best Original Song. The pair was nominated for ‘Best Original Song’.
‘Lift Me Up’ was one of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtracks. Rihanna and Tems co-wrote the soulful track, which was produced by Ludwig Göransson and directed by Ryan Coogler.
Many Nigerians are pleased by the singer’s nomination, which comes only a week after legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg asked to collaborate with her.
