The leadership of Organized Labour is currently in a meeting with a delegation from the Federal Government at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The labour delegation, headed by Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), arrived at the Conference Hall of the Permanent Secretary at the State House at 3:15 pm.
Among the members of the labour delegation are Nuhu Toro, the Secretary of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), and Emma Ugbaja, the Secretary of NLC.
Leading the government team is Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President. Other members of the government team include Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of Service of the Federation; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA); Simon Lalong, the Minister of Labour and Employment; Nkeiruka Onyejecha, the Minister of State; Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance; Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; and Beta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Additionally, some directors from the Ministry of Labour and Employment are present.
The meeting commenced without an opening ceremony and proceeded directly behind closed doors.
