Simon Ekpa, a prominent Biafra agitator and separatist, has stated that he absolves the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from any actions taken by Biafrans.
Ekpa, who is a lawyer based in Finland and self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government, made this statement in a video shared on his Twitter handle on Sunday.
It was previously reported that there were claims that Kanu directed Ekpa to cease criticizing the southeast governors. However, Ekpa denied the authenticity of the letter, labeling it as fake and the work of individuals seeking to disrupt Biafra’s liberation.
He emphasized the importance of securing Kanu’s safety and called for his release to promote lasting peace in the southeast.
In the video, Ekpa explained, “We no longer take orders from the DSS dungeon to safeguard our leader. We want to ensure the safety of our leader and forgive him for anything that Biafrans may do in their pursuit of their best interests.”
He made it clear that any actions taken by Biafrans within the region, in pursuit of Biafra’s freedom, the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the release of all prisoners of conscience, should not be attributed to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
