At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently engaged in a meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
The delegation, led by Olaniyi Yusuf, Chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, commenced the meeting at 11:30 am.
The purpose of the courtesy visit is to inform the Vice President about the upcoming 29th Nigerian Economic Summit, scheduled to take place on October 23-24, 2023. Additionally, they are inviting him to deliver the closing address at the Summit.
During Tuesday’s discussion, potential areas of collaboration between the NESG, the Office of the Vice President, and the National Economic Council will be explored. The focus will be on strategic presidential priorities and initiatives.
Established in 1996, the NESG was founded by a group of private sector leaders following the co-hosting of three consecutive Nigerian Economic Summits with the Federal Government.
In attendance at the meeting are ‘Laoye Jaiyeola, Chief Executive Officer of the NESG, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, Chief Operating Officer, and Kyari Bukar, a former chairman of the board. Others present include Lumun Feese, Gloria Ekpo, Seun Ojo, Nsikan Essien, Aderigbigbe Sherriff, and Ife Falope.
