Chief Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner of Information, has urged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) to bring charges against Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, for allegedly spreading false information about Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi both domestically and abroad.
In a statement released on Monday, the elder statesman said that the minister was in charge of the branch of the current government that, contrary to what “his job implies,” made statements that may divide the nation.
Mohammed is accused of using the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), a representative of his ministry, as a “constant weapon of intimidation and harassment of the press,” according to the individual who also expressed regret over the way Mohammed had conducted himself in relation to the position he holds.
