Victor Osimhen has been named Paris Saint-Germain’s ‘top target’ to replace Kylian Mbappe if the forward leaves the club this summer.
Mbappe’s future is unknown after informing PSG that he will not extend his current contract, which is slated to expire next summer.
PSG has issued an ultimatum, stating that if Mbappe refuses to sign a new contract, the club would actively look to sell him during the current transfer window.
Real Madrid have long admired Mbappe and attempted to buy him in each of the last two summers, but the Spanish club’s capacity to pay a deal is uncertain with the arrival of Jude Bellingham at the Bernabeu.
PSG are intent to sell Mbappe as soon as he does not sign a new contract, and will chase Napoli’s Osimhen if the former does not extend his contract.
“Despite his contract situation, Mbappe’s sale would provide funds to pursue a deal for Osimhen, who finished last season as Serie A’s leading scorer as Napoli won their first Scudetto since 1990.”
“According to Football Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Osimhen will be PSG’s ‘primary target’ if Mbappe leaves, and the Ligue 1 champions have reportedly had an opening bid of €100 million (£85.5 million) turned down.”
Napoli have set a €180 million (£153.8 million) asking price for Osimhen, who has 50 goals in 89 league appearances for the club.
