Chiamaka Nwankwo, Lucy Nwankwo, Oluebube Ezechukwu, and Adaeze Eze, representing Anambra, electrified the enthusiastic crowd at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba as they asserted their dominance and clinched victory in the 4×100 female relay final of the National Youth Games on Friday.
The talented quartet completed the race in an impressive 47.80 seconds, securing the sole gold medal up for grabs in the event.
In the 200m final, Lucy secured second place, earning a silver medal with her time of 24.88 seconds, while Ezechukwu secured the bronze by finishing in third place with a time of 25.11 seconds.
With these remarkable achievements, Anambra’s medal tally now stands at a total of 14 medals, consisting of six gold, five silver, and three bronze medals.
Anambra’s athletes are set to compete in the 100m final scheduled for Saturday, just ahead of the closing ceremony.
