A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has called for reconciliation among party members.
Nwosu extended this plea during his visit to the newly inaugurated National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
He remarked, “I have been acquainted with the National Chairman since his tenure as the Kano State governor. With his assumption of the party’s chairmanship, my visit aimed to express solidarity and provide counsel on the party’s path ahead. I stressed the importance of reconciling the party’s members for unity.”
Nwosu clarified that he had no intention of participating in the upcoming Imo state gubernatorial election, given that the APC already had a designated candidate, Governor Hope Uzodinma. However, he hinted at the possibility of his candidacy in future elections.
“As a dedicated Imo state party member, my commitment lies in advancing the party’s growth. For the moment, I’m not vying for the position. Governor Hope Uzodinma stands as the party’s candidate. It’s not feasible to have two APC candidates in Imo state,” Nwosu affirmed.
He reiterated that his support for Uzodinma aligned with the party’s principles.
