The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has verified the demise of a bar operator in Ikirun.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Kehinde Adeleke, who confirmed the incident said on Saturday, Iya Bisola, a well-known bar operator in Ikirun, was found dead at her residence in the Oke-Glo area of the town. She appeared to have been strangled to death by unidentified individuals on Friday.
The lifeless body was discovered by one of her customers. The NSCDC has initiated an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.
“A popular beer parlour vendor known as Iya Bisola at Station Road, Ikirun, was allegedly strangled to death by unknown person(s). While the reasons for her assassination remain unknown, our personnel visited the scene of the incident at Oke-Glo, Ikirun, before the corpse was removed,” Adeleke stated.
The news of her passing has sparked fear and concern among the residents of the Oke-Glo area in Ikirun, with people gathering in front of her residence to verify the authenticity of the tragic event.
