Chimaroke Nnamani, the senator representing Enugu East Senatotial District, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party after losing his senatorial bid to the Labour Party.
Nnamani also thanked his constituents for their unwavering support throughout the years.
The former Enugu State governor announced his formal departure from the opposition party in a statement signed on Monday.
Nnamani indicated that he had consulted with his associates and constituents and had chosen to leave the PDP due to irreconcilable differences with the party’s national leadership.
In addition, he stated that he had moved on and hoped that his modest contributions to the development of his constituency would serve as a foundation for his successors to expand on.
By confirming his friendship with President-elect Bola Tinubu, he pledged to continue working with him.
The former governor also thanked Nigerians, particularly the Ebeano political family, and urged them to persevere in the years ahead.
He also expressed confidence that the Tinubu administration will support good governance, the rule of law, and human rights in the interests of all Nigerians.
