The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a directive to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to instruct police personnel to vacate the premises of the National Secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Abuja within a span of 48 hours.
This declaration was made by the NLC on Monday in a statement released following an emergency meeting of the National Administrative Council (NAC).
Consequently, the NLC has called upon President Bola Tinubu to expeditiously address and dispel allegations that are circulating due to the actions of individuals who have forcibly taken control of the NURTW’s headquarters, with the assistance of security forces.
It’s worth noting that the leadership of the NURTW had previously raised concerns about purported plans to launch an attack on its secretariat in Abuja.
