The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed its concerns about the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians. The party pointed out that these individuals had been influenced to vote for President Bola Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC). The primary opposition party highlighted that many of those who had supported the APC now regarded their decision as an error, resulting in sentiments of remorse.
Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, conveyed this sentiment in response to statements made by Ade Adetimehin, the Chairman of the APC in Ondo State, who asserted that the PDP had become obsolete.
Peretei emphasized that instead of making such declarations, Adetimehin should be offering apologies on behalf of the APC for the suffering and challenges that Nigerians have endured.
Peretei went on to say, “Engaging in a debate with Mr. Ade Adetimehin, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State, regarding his thoughtless statements would have been unnecessary.
Adetimehin seems to be the only person unaware that the people of Ondo State hold his party, the APC, and its inhumane administration accountable for their hardships over the past eight years. This is especially true in relation to the removal of fuel subsidies and the harsh impact it has had on everyone.
He fails to realize that even those who were deceived into voting for the APC in the 2023 general elections are already feeling regret and expressing sorrow for their miscalculation, which has resulted in severe hardships for them and their families.”
