Oyun Adeyinka Adebayo has assumed the role of Controller in the Correctional Service for Kwara State, marking the commencement of his official duties in the position. Adebayo’s appointment comes as a result of the transfer of Controller Salami Abdulraheem Olubamji, who has been reassigned to the Oyo State Command within the service.
In his departure, the former controller expressed his appreciation for the support and cooperation he received from the command’s staff during his tenure and encouraged them to extend the same level of support to his successor.
The newly appointed Controller, who originates from Ipe in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, boasts a wealth of experience as a seasoned professional correctional administrator.
He has served in various roles across multiple locations, including serving as the Squadron Commander in the Kwara State Command, Vice Principal Academics at Borstal Training Institution Ganmo in Kwara State, and as the officer in charge of the Old Ilorin Custodial Centre in Okekura, Ilorin metropolis.
Adebayo has also held the position of Zone “F” Controller of Operations in Ibadan, Oyo State, and most recently served as the Controller of Corrections in Cross River State before his redeployment to lead as the Controller of Corrections in the State of Harmony.
In his address to the staff members, the new controller pledged to build upon the accomplishments of his predecessor and sought the cooperation and support of the entire staff to fulfil his mandate within the service. Adebayo stressed the importance of discipline and encouraged staff to demonstrate heightened dedication in their service.”
