Napoli, the winners of Serie A, are determined to retain their star player and leading goal scorer from the previous season, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, and are making every effort to achieve this goal.

Osimhen’s exceptional performance during Napoli’s triumphant campaign, which marked their first title in 33 years, has attracted interest from prominent European clubs. According to reports, the club has now presented Osimhen with a new contract extension offer for two years, with a salary valued at N6.5 billion (€6.5 million) plus €1 million in bonuses.

On Monday, Skysports reported that Napoli was engaged in advanced negotiations to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027, accompanied by a salary increase.

Although Osimhen still has two years remaining on his current contract, he had previously expressed a desire for an improved deal worth €7 million. However, Napoli has now presented their offer, which includes a release clause of £170 million.

Napoli’s newly appointed manager, Rudi Garcia, has confirmed that Osimhen will remain with the club for the upcoming season, stating, “I have spoken to Osimhen, and he wishes to stay here and contribute to another fantastic season with Napoli.”

“I can assure you that he wants to stay; he is content being part of our team and remains committed to achieving great things.”

Osimhen impressively scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 32 league appearances for Napoli in the previous season.
