“The demise of several individuals due to the collapse of the Zaria central mosque has been characterized as deeply saddening and overwhelming by Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Representing the Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Speaker Abbas conveyed his profound shock upon learning of this tragic incident. He expressed his distress and anguish at the loss of lives and injuries suffered by his constituents in this unfortunate event.

In an official statement issued by his media and publicity Special Adviser, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker shared that he was profoundly affected by the incident, considering it one of the most distressing pieces of news he had received recently.

The Speaker conveyed his sorrow and sympathy for the losses suffered during this critical period and extended his prayers for the souls of the departed. Additionally, he beseeched the Almighty to swiftly heal those who were wounded in the accident.

“I am deeply pained by the regrettable occurrence at the Zaria Central Mosque on the 11th of August, 2023, during the Asr prayer. The incident resulted in the unfortunate loss of some of my constituents. Witnessing people lose their lives in such a manner while worshiping Allah is truly heart-wrenching. I implore Allah (SWT) to grant them eternal peace and admit them to Jannatul Firdaus.”

“I earnestly pray that Allah (SWT) bestows the grieving families with the strength to endure their losses and facilitates the swift recovery of the injured,” the Speaker expressed.
