Ibrahim Bio, a former Minister of Transportation, expressed his belief that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, is likely to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Bio made this observation during an interview on Arise Television in response to Wike’s ministerial nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bio pointed out that Wike’s inclusion in the ministerial list suggests that he would be serving in the All Progressives Congress-led administration. This situation, according to Bio, creates a conflict as Wike holds a prominent position as a PDP leader in Rivers State.
“Nyesom Wike is the only PDP card-carrying member on the ministerial list. I don’t know how he will reconcile this with being a leader of the PDP in Rivers State. It seems evident that Wike is on his way out of PDP,” he stated.
It’s worth noting that President Tinubu’s ministerial list includes Wike, three former governors, and 24 other nominees, as announced by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during the plenary on Thursday.
