Many people were killed in an explosion at a crude oil tapping point in a Rivers State community.
The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Friday in Rumuekpe Community in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.
According to reports, the explosion occurred when one of the buses loaded with crude oil ‘packaged in bags’ to transport to a refining site had started its engine.
The explosion was said to have been caused by a spark from the car’s battery head.
